July 29, 2001 NEWS RELEASE Embassy of the United States of America, Belgrade NO DISCUSSIONS ON YUGOSLAV BASES Ambassador William Montgomery and EUCOM Spokesman Captain Brian Cullin, both of whom attended all of the meetings between EUCOM and the Yugoslav delegation on July 19, totally reject the story reported by BETA news agency in Belgrade on July 29 as a complete fabrication. At no point in the meeting that EUCOM had with Yugoslav
Foreign Minister Svilanovic, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Covic, and
General Krstic and Radosavljevic was there any discussion of any use of
Yugoslav Army facilities by U.S. or other NATO forces. The
fictitious nature of this story is also evidenced by its claim that the
discussions took place at Ramstein, whereas the bilateral discussions
actually took place in Stuttgart. 29. jul, 2001. SAOPŠTENJE ZA ŠTAMPU Ambasada Sjedinjenih Američkih Država NIJE BILO RAZGOVORA O JUGOSLOVENSKIM BAZAMA Ambasador Vilijem Montgomery i portparol EUCOM-a kapetan Brajan Kulin (Brian Cullin) koji su 19. jula prisustvovali svim sastancima EUCOM-a (Američka komanda za Evropu) i jugoslovenske delegacije, u potpunosti odbacuju vest koju je prenela beogradska novinska agencija BETA 29-og jula kao potpunu izmišljotinu. Nijednom tokom sastanka EUCOM-a i jugoslovenskog ministra
spoljnih poslova Svilanovića, srpskog potpredsednika Čovića i generala
Krstića i Radosavljevića nije bilo razgovora o bilo kakvoj upotrebi
objekata jugoslovenske armije od strane Sjedinjenih Država ili neke
druge zemlje članice NATO-a. Da je ova priča izmišljena vidi se
takodje po tvrdnji da su razgovori vodjeni u Ramštajnu a u stvari su
vodjeni u Štutgartu. |
