October 11, 2001 NEWS RELEASE Embassy of the United States of America, Belgrade US Ambassador Signs Agreement To Provide Energy Efficient Equipment To Five Serbian Municipalities American Ambassador William Montgomery and Serbian Minister of Energy, Industry and Mining Goran Novakovic signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Ministry on October 11, that will provide $1 million worth of energy efficiency equipment to five Serbian municipalities – Kragujevac, Krusevac, Novi Pazar, Subotica, and Zrenjanin. The installations will save Serbia about $300,000 annually. They are being financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development and will be installed by November 2001 by the Nextant Company. The energy efficiency equipment and measures will be implemented in one city hall, one town hospital, one senior citizen center, six schools, and one health clinic. They will include several boilers, a condensate return system, large numbers of double pane windows, thermal insulation, high efficiency lighting for buildings and streets, fuel switching, and radiator and heat pump equipment. Most of the equipment will be purchased in Serbia. Through these installations, over 1,440 tons of coal will be saved each heating season – enough to heat two schools. In addition, 200 tons of light oil will be saved annually as well - enough to provide electricity to 1.400 homes for a month. Ambassador Montgomery emphasized that the American Embassy has three reasons for implementing this project: First, to help the Yugoslav people during a difficult time of transition. Second, to support the mayors in improving conditions in their cities. And third, to demonstrate the beneficial effects of conservation in dealing with energy problems.
11. oktobar, 2001.
povratnog kondenzacionog sistema, velikog broja duplih prozora, termoizolacije,
povoljne efekte racionalizacije u oblasti električne energije. |
