On Thursday, July 3 at 11 a.m., Dr. Lynne Germain Montgomery will participate in a ceremony at the Prokuplje Health Center (Pasjacka br. 2) marking the beginning of a project that will refurbish the kitchen facilities at the Center. The building will get a new roof, all existing windows will be repaired, brand new bathrooms and a ventilation system will be provided. The Health Center in Prokuplje provides medical care for over 200,000 inhabitants in the Toplica region.

In addition to the Prokuplje project, the Department of Defense’s Humanitarian Assistance Program also announces that it is funding a $195,000 grant to the Veternik Center for Handicapped Children for the construction and refurbishment of the Handicapped Children Center and the Mental Health Center. The renovations will include living quarters for severely handicapped children, new bathrooms, plumbing and sewage repairs, a lighting system, electrical repairs, a new floor and tiles in the kitchen and renovation of the heating system.

Both projects are expected to be completed over the next few months.

Press interested in covering the ceremony should be at the Prokuplje Health Center (Pasjacka br. 2) in Prokuplje no later than 10:45 a.m. on July 3.
