Reactivation of Marine Security Guard Detachment

A Marine Security Guard detachment was re-activated on July 31, 2003 at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade. This is the first deployment of Marine Security Guards in Belgrade since the Embassy was closed on March 24, 1999, just prior to the NATO-led bombing of Yugoslavia. The flag that was raised at the re-activation ceremony is the same flag that was taken down from the Embassy when the last group of Marines departed Belgrade.

Reaktivacija bezbednosnog odreda marinaca

Bezbednosni odred marinaca reaktiviran je 31. jula 2003. godine u Ambasadi SAD u Beogradu. Ovo je prvi dolazak bezbednosnog odreda marinaca u Beograd od kako je Ambasada zatvorena 24. marta 1999. godine, uoči NATO bombardovanja Jugoslavije. Zastava podignuta na svečanosti je ista zastava koja je skinuta sa Ambasade kada je poslednja grupa marinaca napustila Beograd.
