September 29, 2003 Embassy of the United States
of America GROUP FROM SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO TO STUDY U.S. MODELS OF DEFENSE INDUSTRY CONVERSION At the invitation of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, a group of six individuals from Serbia and Montenegro's defense industry will be traveling to the United States from September 29 to October 11 to meet with American counterparts who are responsible for the conversion of former military industries into civilian use and production. After the end of the Cold War, the United States faced an over-capacity of its defense industry. The group from Serbia and Montenegro will benefit from observing America's successful examples of factories and bases that have completely changed their focus to the civilian sector and are thriving in new industries. The group represents the companies Yugoimport, Lola Utva, Sloboda
and Prva Iskra. They are expected to meet with Federal and local
government officials, private companies and business promotion offices
in Washington, D.C.; Seattle, Washington; San Diego, California and
Columbus, Ohio. Boeing, Raytheon and Northrop Grumman are among the
companies the group will visit in those cities. 29. septembar 2003 Ambasada Sjedinjenih Američkih Država GRUPA IZ SRBIJE I CRNE GORE PROUČAVAĆE AMERIČKE MODELE KONVERZIJE VOJNE INDUSTRIJE
