Dairy Feed and Forage Course in Krusevac and Belgrade,
October 19-24

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is hosting two Feed and Forage Workshops for more than 80 Serbian and Montenegrin dairy farmers, livestock scientists and public officials in Krusevac and Belgrade. The workshops began on October 19 and will continue until October 24, 2003.

The purpose of these workshops is to provide participants with tools needed to improve feed and forage practices within the dairy livestock sector. Components of the workshops will focus on technologies to improve farm management practices, increase market competitiveness, and strengthen Serbia and Montenegro’s capacity to meet domestic and export markets’ demands for quality dairy products. In addition, this event will provide an opportunity for U.S. experts to meet with their counterparts from Serbia and Montenegro, to further cooperation in all areas of dairy livestock management and feed and forage systems.

A highlight of the course is guest lectures from a prominent U.S. land grant university (University of Wisconsin, River Falls). In addition, the workshop will feature a lecture on the practical aspects of forage and dairy production delivered by a U.S. dairy farmer and former Secretary of Agriculture for the State of Wisconsin. The team from the U.S. will also provide demonstrations on the use of new farm equipment for testing and measuring silage and feed.

Seminar o ishrani mlečnih krava i krmnom bilju u Kruševcu i Beogradu,
19.-24. oktobar

Ministarstvo poljoprivrede SAD organizuje u Kruševcu i Beogradu dva seminara o ishrani mlečnih krava i krmnom bilju za više od 80 poljoprivrednika u SiCG, stručnjaka za stočarstvo i službenika u javnom sektoru. Radionice će se održati od 19. do 24. oktobra 2003.

Cilj organizovanja seminara je upoznavanje učesnika sa tehnikama unapređenja upotrebe stočne hrane i krmnog bilja u oblasti uzgoja mlečnih krava. Elementi seminara odnosiće se na tehnologije unapređenja menadžmenta farme, poboljšanje tržišne konkurentnosti i jačanje sposobnosti proizvođača u SiCG u cilju ispunjavanja zahteva domaćeg i inostranog tržišta za kvalitetnim mlečnim proizvodima. Takođe, ovaj seminar omogućiće da američki i eksperti iz SiCG prodube saradnju u oblasti menadžmenta uzgoja mlečnih krava i upotrebe stočne hrane i krmnog bilja.

Na seminaru, predavanje će održati i gost-predavač sa poznatog američkog Univerziteta Viskonsin (University of Wisconsin, River Falls). Takodje, na seminaru će održati predavanje uzgajivač mlečnih krava i bivši Sekretar za poljoprivredu u američkoj državi Viskonsin. Tim iz SAD predstaviće novu opremu za testiranje i merenje stočne hrane.
