The Embassy of the United States Welcomes the Extradition of Ljubisa Beara to the Hague

The Embassy of the United States commends the Government of Serbia for the transfer of war crimes indictee Ljubisa Beara to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.

Mr. Beara's indictment, issued in March 2002, accuses him of participating in one of the most heinous crimes to have occurred during the Balkans War of 1991-1995, namely the massacre of thousands of civilians in Srebrenica in July 1995.

The actions taken by the Government of Serbia are an important step on the path to fulfilling its international obligations fully.

The Embassy of the United States calls on the Government of Serbia to continue these efforts to assure that Ratko Mladic and all other indictees are brought to the Hague without any further delay.

IZRUČENJE LJUBIŠE BEARE HAGU

Ambasada Sjedinjenih Država pozdravlja čin Vlade Srbije o izručenju optuženog za ratne zločine Ljubiše Beare Međunarodnom krivičnom sudu za bivšu Jugoslaviju u Hagu.

Optužnica podignuta marta 2002. godine, tereti gospodina Bearu za učešće u jednom od najgnusnijih zločina koji su počinjeni tokom ratova na Balkanu od 1991. do 1995. godine a koji se odnosi na masakr hiljade civila u Srebrenici 1995. godine.

Akcije koje je preduzela Vlada Srbije predstavljaju važan korak ka potpunom ispunjavanju međunarodnih obaveza.

Ambasada Sjedinjenih Država poziva Vladu Srbije da nastavi sa naporima kako bi Ratko Mladić i svi drugi optuženi bili što pre izručeni Hagu.
