U.S. Department of Agriculture Training on International Grades and Standards for
Serbia and Montenegro

Organized by the U.S. Embassy's Agricultural Affairs Office, under the Support for Eastern European Democracy Act, and coordinated by the Foreign Agricultural Service's International Cooperation and Development Division, a team of U.S. Department of Agriculture specialists on standardization of fruits and vegetables, grains, and meat products will conduct a two-day seminar on international marketing requirements for Serbia and Montenegro's regulatory officials and private sector representatives at the Hotel Metropol in Belgrade on November 17 and 18.

Mr. David Priester, from the Standardization Branch for Fresh Produce, Mr. Corey Gilbert, from the Livestock and Seed Division of the Agricultural Marketing Service, and Mr. Larry McDonald of the Grain Inspection Division of Grain Inspection, Packers, and Stockyards Agency will be the primary trainers.

The seminar's goal is to provide a better understanding of U.S. standards of quality for uniformity in the market place. The team will also introduce the UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) methodology for development of internationally acceptable standards for fruits and vegetables, grains, and meats.

SEMINAR AMERIČKOG MINISTARSTVA POLJOPRIVREDE O MEĐUNARODNIM KLASAMA I STANDARDIMA ZA
SRBIJU I CRNU GORU

U organizaciji Odeljenja za poljoprivredu ambasade SAD, u okviru Programa za podršku demokratiji u istočnoj Evropi, a koordinisan od strane Odseka za međunarodnu saradnju i razvoj američkog Ministarstva poljoprivrede, tim stručnjaka za standardizaciju voća, povrća, žitarica i proizvoda od mesa američkog Ministarstva poljoprivrede održaće dvodnevni seminar u Hotelu Metropol, od 17. do 18. novembra 2004. godine, o međunarodnim tržišnim zahtevima za vladine službenike iz SCG i predstavnike privatnog sektora.

Glavni predavači će biti Gospodin Dejvid Prister, Odsek za standardizaciju svežih proizvoda, Gospodin Kori Gilbert, Odsek za stočarstvo i semenarstvo u okviru Poljoprivredne Tržišne Službe i Gospodin Leri Mekdonald iz Odseka za inspekciju žitarica pri Agenciji za inspekciju žitarica, pakeraja i skladišta.

Cilj seminara je da omogući bolje razumevanje američkih standarda kvaliteta u cilju uniformnosti na tržištu. Tim će takođe predstaviti UNECE (Ekonomska komisija za Evropu pri Ujedinjenim Nacijama) metodologiju za razvoj međunarodno prihvatljivih standarda za voće, povrće, žitarice i mesa.
