U.S. Embassy and U.S. European Command to Conduct Seminar on "Defense Planning Guidance and Forecasting"

The Embassy of the United States, and the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), in cooperation with Serbia and Montenegro's Ministry of Defense, will hold a three-days seminar on Defense Planning Guidance and Forecasting from January 25-27 in Belgrade.

The purpose of the seminar is to familiarize members of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff and selected members of Parliament with the U.S. concept of planning and forecasting for military needs, including force structure and threat assessment; to broaden and deepen their understanding of the fundamental requirements for national defense policy, military doctrine, and budgeting decisions at the national level. The topics will cover dimensions of defense transformation, such as organization, national objectives, and civilian control. Additional topics are national security, guidance, and civil-military relations, force planning and transformation.

Participants in the seminar will be staff from the Ministry of Defense and senior-level officers associated with force structure and re-organization in Serbia and Montenegro's military as well as members of Parliament associated with defense policy.

Ambasada SAD i Evropska komanda snaga SAD organizuju seminar "Prognoziranje i smernice za planiranje odbrane"

Ambasada SAD i Evropska komanda snaga SAD (EUCOM) u saradnji sa Ministarstvom odbrane SCG organizuju trodnevni seminar "Prognoziranje i smernice za planiranje odbrane" od 25. do 27. januara u Beogradu.

Cilj seminara je upoznavanje pripadnika Ministarstva odbrane, Generalštaba i pojedinih članova Skupštine sa američkim konceptom planiranja i prognoziranja vojnih potreba uključujući strukturu snaga i procenu pretnji; produbljivanje znanja o osnovnim zahtevima nacionalne odbrambene politike, vojne doktrine i odlučivanja o budžetu na nacionalnom nivou. Teme uključuju različite aspekte transformacije odbrambenog sistema kao što su organizacija, nacionalni ciljevi i civilna kontrola. Dodatne teme su nacionalna bezbednost, vojno-civilni odnosi, planiranje snaga i transformacija.

Učesnici seminara su službenici Ministarstva odbrane, viši službenici zaduženi za planiranje snaga i reorganizaciju vojske SCG i članovi Skupštine koji rade na odbrambenoj politici.
