U.S. Support to the Supreme Court of Serbia

On September 12, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia, Michael C. Polt will announce assistance to the Supreme Court of Serbia for the celebration of the 160th anniversary of their establishment. This assistance, totaling $20,000, is being provided by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) and will be used for the production of the documentary movie about the Supreme Court, a monograph of the history of the Supreme Court, the exhibition of antique Supreme Court documents and the celebration ceremony.

This assistance is part of the overall support of the United States Government to the independence of the judiciary in Serbia and shall be used to emphasize the significance of the judicial branch as an equal and independent branch of power, as well as the importance of the public trust in the judicial institutions.

Podrška SAD Vrhovnom sudu Srbije

Dana 12. septembra, ambasador SAD u Srbiji Majkl K. Polt će najaviti podršku Vrhovnom sudu Srbije povodom proslave 160 godina postojanja Vrhovnog suda Srbije. Ova pomoć u iznosu od 20,000 dolara, koju je obezbedila Kancelarija za međunarodnu pomoć, usavršavanje i profesionalnu obuku sudova, tužilaštava i policije Ministarstva pravde SAD (OPDAT), namenjena je produkciji dokumentarnog filma o Vrhovnom sudu, izradi monografije o istorijatu Vrhovnog suda, postavljanju izložbe starih dokumenata Vrhovnog suda kao i svečanoj proslavi ovog jubileja.

Ova donacija, koja predstavlja deo sveobuhvatne podrške vlade SAD nezavisnosti pravosuđa u Srbiji ima za cilj da istakne značaj sudske vlasti kao nezavisne i jednake grane vlasti, kao i da naglasi značaj poverenja građana u pravosudne institucije.
