U.S. Department of Agriculture Program for Building Capacity for Trade in the Dairy Industry in Serbia

The Office of the Foreign Agriculture Service of the Department of Agriculture at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia will co-host a training workshop entitled, “Building Capacity for Trade in the Dairy Industry,” which will be held in Belgrade, October 4-6, and will be conducted by sanitation and animal health experts from the United States. The program supports the Ministry of Agriculture, the Chief Veterinary Officer, the veterinary institutes, and the dairy industry of Serbia, addressing issues of the regulatory requirements and industry considerations for exporting dairy products to the U.S. The presenters will provide information from the vantage point of preparing dairy products for exporting to the United States.

During the training Captain Robert Childers of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Gabriel Pascual of the Agency for Development of Export Markets, and Charles Theon, DMV, will explain FDA regulations and import compliance issues essential to Serbian regulators, as well as how Serbian processors can comply with the U.S. dairy industry regulations. Other important topics related to exporting dairy products will be covered including: control programs for Brucellosis and Tuberculosis, pasteurization controls, marketing and distribution of dairy products in the U.S., and the importance of trade associations in the U.S. dairy industry.

The training will take place October 4-6, 2006, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Best Western Hotel Sumadija in Belgrade.

Program Ministarstva poljoprivrede SAD za izgradnju kapaciteta u industriji mlečnih proizvoda u Srbiji

Ministarstvo poljoprivrede SAD i Odeljenje za poljoprivredu američke ambasade u Beogradu, u saradnji sa Ministarstvom poljoprivrede Srbije, organizovaće radionicu pod nazivom ”Izgradnja kapaciteta za trgovinu proizvodima od mleka”, koja će se održati u Beogradu, od 4. do 6. oktobra 2006. godine sa predavačima iz oblasti zaštite zdravlja životinja i sanitarne inspekcije iz Sjedinjenih Država. Program predstavlja podršku Ministarstvu poljoprivede, Upravi za veterinu, veterinarskim institutima i mlekarskoj industriji u Srbiji u oblasti zakonske regulative i neophodnim pripremama industrije za izvoz na američko tržište. Predavači će iznetim informacije o pripremi mlečnih proizvoda za izvoz na tržište SAD.

Američki stručnjaci, kapetan Robert Čilders iz Ministarstva za hranu i lekove, Gabrijel Paskval iz Agencije za razvoj tržišta za izvoz, i doktor veterinarske medicine Čarls Tion, objasniće propise FDA i propise koji regulišu izvoz u SAD, kao i korake koje srpski proizvođači moraju preduzeti da bi se uskladili sa propisima za mlekarsku industriju u SAD. Na ovoj radionici biće obrađene i druge teme koje se odnose na izvoz mlečnih proizvoda, uklujčujući kontrolne programe za brucelozu i tuberkulozu, kontrolu pasterizacije, marketing i distribuciju mlečnih proizvoda u SAD, kao i važnost trgovinskih asocijacija u SAD.

Radionica će se održati u Beogradu, u Best Western Hotelu “Šumadija” od 4. do 6. oktobra, sa početkom u 9 časova.
