Ambassador Polt meets with War Crimes Prosecutor Vukcevic on Bytyqi case
On Thursday, September 1, U.S. Ambassador Michael C. Polt and War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic held a constructive discussion about the ongoing case of the murder of Yili, Mehmet and Agron Bytyqi, three American citizens illegally detained and subsequently murdered in Petrovo Selo, Serbia in 1999.
Ambassador Polt received assurances from Prosecutor Vukcevic that he is committed to solving the case, and will continue to investigate this case no matter where results may lead, and prosecute those suspected of involvement in these murders.
The U.S. Government welcomes actions taken by the War Crimes Prosecutor in this case to date, including the indictment of Sreten Popovic and Milos Stojanovic, former members of a special police unit who are suspected of involvement in the murder of the Bytyqi brothers.

Ambasador Polt razgovarao sa tužiocem za ratne zločine Vladimirom Vukčevićem o slučaju Bitići
U četvrtak 1. septembra, ambasador SAD Majkl K. Polt i tužilac za ratne zločine Vladimir Vukčević imali su konstruktivnu diskusiju o slučaju ubistva Ilija, Mehmeta i Agrona Bitićija, američkih građana koji su nelegalno pritvoreni i pogubljeni u Petrovom Selu, Srbija, 1999. godine.
Tužilac Vukčević uverio je ambasadora Polta u nameru da se slučaj okonča, nastavi istraga bez obzira gde će se završiti i procesuiraju svi osumnjičenje za ova ubistva.
Vlada Sjedinjenih Država pozdravlja dosadašnje akcije tužioca za ratne zločine, uključujući podizanje optužnice protiv Sretena Popovića i Miloša Stojanovića, bivših pripadnika Posebnih jedinica policije, koji su osumnjičeni za ubistvo braće Bitići.
