Ambassador Polt helps celebrate the fifth anniversary of the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia

On October 19, 2006, the U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Michael C. Polt was the guest speaker at an event marking the fifth anniversary of American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham). The Ambassador addressed 150 top managers of AmCham member companies, including U.S. Steel Serbia, Philip Morris International, Ball Packaging Europe, British American Tobacco, Coca-Cola HBC, and other business leaders. The Ambassador shared his views of a modern and prosperous Serbia in the future, and underlined the importance of next few months for the development of the country.

Established in October 2001 at the initiative of the U.S. Embassy and 23 founding members, the AmCham has grown to become a strong network of leading U.S., international and local companies and maintains constructive dialogue with key Serbian government institutions. Today, the AmCham has 169 members that have invested over $ 5 billion in Serbia and employed more than 55,000 people.
