Publikum Calendar Exhibit Opens in Belgrade

Ms. Marilyn Wyatt, wife of Ambassador Munter, opened the exhibit of the Publikum Calendar in Belgrade on December 5, 2007. PA Belgrade supported the series of events related to the launching of 2008 Publikum Calendar, co-edited by Debbie Millman, U.S. graphic designer. Since 1993, the Art Group FIA, which gathers Serbian and American artists, has designed and produced a calendar featuring graphic artists from all around the world. In previous years the calendar featured numerous U.S. artists such as Paula Scher, Chip Kidd, the recipient of the National Design Award 2007, and Sean Adams, President of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. To mark the 15th anniversary of the calendar, the Art Group FIA organized an exhibit of 2008 Publikum Calendar and a retrospective of previous calendars at the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in downtown Belgrade. The exhibit opening, which attracted more than 200 guests, was covered by numerous print and electronic media.

Otvaranje izložbe Publikum kalendara u Beogradu

G-đa Merilin Vajat, supruga ambasadora Mantera, je 5. decembra 2007. godine otvorila izložbu Publikum kalendara u Beogradu. Odeljenje za kulturu i medije Ambasade SAD je pomoglo niz događaja vezanih za objavljivanje Publikum kalendara za 2008. godinu koji je kreirala Debi Milman, grafički dizajner iz Sjedinjenih Država. Umetnička grupa FIA koja okuplja srpske i američke umetnike od 1993. godine dizajnira i objavljuje kalendar u kome umetnici iz celog sveta predstavljaju svoja dela grafičkog dizajna. Prethodnih godina na kalendaru su između ostalih radili Pola Šer, Čip Kid, dobitnik National Design nagrade za 2007. godinu, i Šon Adams, predsednik Američkog instituta za grafičku umetnost. Povodom obeležavanja petnaestogodišnjice kalendara Umetnička grupa FIA je organizovala izložbu Publikum kalendara za 2008. godinu i retrospektive prethodnih kalendara u galeriji Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti u centru Beograda. Otvaranje izložbe na kome je bilo više od 200 zvanica privuklo je i mnogobrojne štampane i elektronske medije.
