Soccer-Playing Robot Puppies at the First Science Festival in Belgrade
Dr. Sheila Tejada, Professor, Computer and Information Science Department, Brooklyn College in New York, visited Belgrade on a U.S. Speaker program from November 29 to December 3, 2007. Dr. Sheila Tejada gave a presentation on robotics and artificial intelligence at the First Science Festival that took place in Belgrade on December 1 and 2, 2007. Dr. Tejada demonstrated a pair of robot puppies that have been created and developed for RoboCup international robotic soccer competitions which can also be employed for research, in education, in urban rescue efforts and as medical help in private homes. Her presentation attracted an audience of more than 100 children and youth attending the Science Festival. The two-day festival, which was organized by a Belgrade-based NGO "Night of Museums" and supported by numerous foreign cultural centers, local and international businesses, attracted more than 10,000 people. The Science Festival was extensively covered and promoted by electronic media, and Dr. Tejada had two live appearances at the morning programs of TV B92 and TV Studio B. At the festival venue, Dr. Tejada also gave an interview to the Science Desk of the National Broadcasting Corporation Radio Television Serbia. In addition, Dr. Tejada delivered a lecture at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, for a group of 50 undergraduate students and professors. After the lecture, Dr. Tejada and the robots were surrounded by enthusiastic students who asked her for advice on how to develop a similar project at the University of Belgrade. Dr. Tejada was also approached later on the streets of Belgrade by teenagers who had seen her at the festival and had additional questions about the robots.

Roboti igraju fudbal na prvom Festivalu nauke u Beogradu
Dr Šejla Tehada, profesor na Odseku za kompjutere i informacionu tehnologiju Bruklin koledža u Njujorku, posetila je Beograd u okviru programa gostujućih predavača Ambasade SAD od 29. novembra do 3. decembra 2007. godine. Dr Šejla Tehada je održala prezentaciju o robotici i veštačkoj inteligenciji na prvom Festivalu nauke 1. i 2. decembra. Dr Tehada je prikazala dva robota-psa koji su napravljeni za međunarodna fudbalska takmičenja robota RoboCup. Ovi roboti mogu takođe da se koriste za istraživanja, u obrazovanju, za akcije spašavanja u gradovima i kao pomoć bolesnicima u kući. Njena prezentacija je privukla više od 100 dece i mladih koji su došli na Festival nauke. Ovaj dvodnevni festival, koji je posetilo više od 10,000 ljudi, organizovala je grupa "Noć muzeja" uz podršku brojnih stranih kulturnih centara, kao i domaćih i stranih kompanija. Elektronski mediji su opširno izveštavali o festivalu, a Dr Tehada je učestvovala u jutarnjim programima TV B92 i Studija B. Na samom festivalu Dr Tehada je dala intervju naučnom programu Radio Televizije Srbije. Dr Tehada je takođe održala predavanje na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Beogradu grupi od 50 studenata i profesora. Nakon predavanja, zainteresovani studenti potražili su savete od Dr Tehade na temu kako da razviju sličan projekat na Univerzitetu u Beogradu. U centru Beograda Dr Tehadi je prišlo troje mladih koji su je videli na festivalu i želeli da dobiju još informacija o robotima.
