Statement by Ambassador Michael C. Polt on Serbia's Parlamentary Elections

The preliminary results indicate free and fair elections on Sunday. By their choices, the majority of Serbia's citizens have spoken out in favor of a secure, prosperous future inside the Euro-Atlantic community. It is now up to their chosen leaders to form a government that delivers such a forward-looking Serbia.

I would like to congratulate the people of Serbia. The United States looks forward to continuing to work with you and your leadership as your country fulfills the promise of October 2000.

Izjava Ambasadora Majkla K. Polta o srpskim Parlamentarnim izborima

Preliminarne ocene pokazuju da su izbori održani u nedelju bili slobodni i pošteni. Većina građana Srbije svojim glasovima podržala je sigurnu i prosperitetnu budućnost u evroatlanskoj zajednici. Sada je na izabranim liderima da formiraju vladu koja će ostvariti ciljeve Srbije okrenute ka daljem napretku.

Želim da uputim čestitke narodu Srbije. Sjedinjene Države žele da nastave da sarađuju sa vama i vašim vođstvom u cilju ostvarenja demokratskih principa iz oktobra 2000. godine.
