Ambassador Munter Focuses on Business, New Investment, and Corporate Social Responsibility at AmCham Serbia
Speaking to over 150 representatives of American, Serbian and international members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade on September 18, Ambassador Munter stressed two key messages. First, that the United States has been, is, and will continue to be, a strong partner with Serbia and that business is a strategic bridge for this partnership. Second, the Ambassador stressed the importance of proper business values and corporate social responsibility, noting that it reflects the society we want to live in.
On the first point, Ambassador Munter strongly urged Serbia to continue with economic reforms and focus on nurturing investors already present in the country. Ambassador Munter praised Serbian efforts in implementing economic reforms, attracting investments and progress in the privatization process, particularly in the banking and financial sector. He stressed that economic sustainability and further expansion of greenfield investments in Serbia largely depends on the successful management of relations with companies that have already made initial investments in Serbia. He further noted the importance of Serbia's continued commitment to reforms and Euro-Atlantic integration as critical to attracting investors and for creating jobs in Serbia for Serbians. Ambassador Munter emphasized the importance of implementing reform measures in a fair, transparent, and equitable manner without political interference.
On his second point, Ambassador Munter highlighted the importance of proper business values and corporate social responsibility. The arrival of international businesses to Serbia, the Ambassador stressed, means more then just capital inflow. Investment and trade are more than financial transactions. He noted that international corporations and enterprises are also bringing new business standards and responsible business behavior. He stressed that corporate social responsibility matters to businesses, government and citizens.

Ambasador Manter govori u Američkoj privrednoj komori o poslovanju, novim investicijama i društvenoj odgovornosti korporacija
Govoreći pred više od 150 predstavnika američkih, srpskih i međunarodnih članova Američke privredne komore u Beogradu 18. septembra, ambasador Manter je istakao dve ključne poruke. Prva je da su SAD uvek bile i da će biti jak partner sa Srbijom, a da je poslovanje strateški most ovog partnerstva. Kao drugu poruku, ambasador je naglasio važnost postojanja pravih poslovnih vrednosti i društvene odgovornosti korporacija, primetivši da one odražavaju društvo u kome želimo da živimo.
Kod prve poruke, ambasador Manter je snažno podržao Srbiju da nastavi sa ekonomskim reformama i da se usredsredi na negovanje odnosa sa investitorima koji su već prisutni u zemlji. Ambasador Manter je pohvalio napore Srbije u primenjivanju ekonomskih reformi, privlačenju investicija i napretku u procesu privatizacije, posebno u bankarstvu i finansijskom sektoru. On je naglasio da ekonomska održivost i dalja ekspanzija grinfild investicija u Srbiji umnogome zavise od uspešno vođenih odnosa sa kompanijama koje su već započele svoje investicije u Srbiji. U daljem izlaganju, ambasador je naglasio važnost nastavka opredeljenosti Srbije ka reformama i Evroatlanskim integracijama kao ključne za privlačenje investitora i stvaranje novih radnih mesta u Srbiji. Ambasador Manter je takođe naglasio važnost primenjivanja reformskih mera na pravičan, transparentan i nepristrasan način, bez uplitanja politike.
Kod druge poruke, ambasador Manter je naglasio važnost pravih poslovnih vrednosti i društvene odgovornosti korporacija. Dolazak međunarodnih poslovnih firmi u Srbiju, naglasio je ambasador, znači mnogo više od samog upliva kapitala. Investicije i trgovina su više od finansijskih transakcija. On je napomenuo da međunarodne korporacije i kompanje takođe donose i nove standarde u poslvanju i odgovorno poslovno ponašanje. Ambasador je takođe naglasio da je društvena odgovornost korporacija značajna za poslovanje, vladu i za građane.
