U.S. Embassy Participates in the International Book Fair in Belgrade, October 22-29

The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce its participation in the 52nd International Book Fair in Belgrade. The U.S. Embassy will host a Booth, as well as sponsor numerous American guest speakers. American authors and specialists will conduct programs not only at the Fair (at the Booth and the Conference Rooms on the Ist floor of the Exhibit Hall XIV), but also at American Corners throughout Serbia and at other local cultural and educational institutions. Among the guests will be award-winning author William T. Vollmann and writer Debra Magpie Earling. A complete schedule of events and the biographies of Mr. Vollmann and Ms. Earling are attached.

Visitors to the U.S. Embassy Booth can browse the latest U.S. reference, literature, and children's books and get information about U.S. Embassy sponsored educational programs in Serbia, including the Information Resource Center, U.S. government sponsored exchange programs for students and professionals, and the American Corners.

For the first time five U.S. academic publishers - McGraw Hill, Pearson, Thomson, John Wiley, and Houghton Mifflin will be participating in the Book Fair, and will present their latest editions as well as offer titles at discounted prices at the adjacent Booth.

Ambasada SAD učestvuje na međunarodnom Sajmu knjiga u Beogradu, 22.-29. oktobar

Ambasada SAD sa zadovoljstvom obaveštava da će učestvovati na 52. međunarodnom Sajmu knjiga u Beogradu. Ambasada će imati svoj štand i dovešće brojne goste iz Amerike. Američki pisci i stručnjaci će učestovati u programima ne samo na Sajmu (na štandu i u konferencijskim salama na prvom spratu Hale XIV), već i u Američkim kucima širom Srbije i u drugim kulturnim i obrazovnim ustanovama. Među gostima će biti i nagrađivan pisac Vilijam T. Volman i spisateljica Debra Megpaj Irling. Kompletan program i biografije g. Volmana i g-dje Irling su dati u prilogu.

Posetioci Američkog štanda će moći da se upoznaju sa najnovijim referensnim knjigama iz Amerike, sa delima američke književnosti i dečijim kolekcijama, kao i da dobiju informacije o ambasadinim obrazovnim programima za Srbiju, uključujući informacije o Informaciono-referalnom centru, programima američke vlade za razmenu studenata i stručnjaka, kao i o Američkim kucima.

Prvi put ove godine na Sajmu će učestvovati pet američkih akademskih izdavača - McGraw Hill, Thomson, John Wiley, Pearson i Houghton Mifflin, koji će predstaviti svoja najnovija izdanja i ponuditi knjige po sniženim cenama na susednom štandu.

Novinari zainteresovani da izveštavaju sa otvaranja Američkog štanda na Sajmu (Hala XIV) mole se da budu na štandu u 18:30.
