Important Announcement on Visa Application Form

As of October 20, all applicants for nonimmigrant visas to the United States must use the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). On that date, the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade will no longer accept handwritten or typed visa application forms. Most applicants for visas in Belgrade have already been using this form and have enjoyed the benefits of faster processing. The new EVAF form allows applicants to fill out the application online, print it out and bring it to the consular section on the day of their visa interview. The EVAF prints out with a barcode on the third page which consular sections can read in order to enter the applicant’s information into the State Department’s visa database.

Applicants can fill out the EVAF application from any computer that is connected to the internet and a printer. The answers typed onto the internet form cannot be saved on the computer and are not transmitted to the Embassy. After completing the form online, applicants must print the result. The form is in English and the questions are identical to those on the old, paper application forms. For assistance in understanding the questions in English, applicants may refer to the Serbian visa application, available at http://belgrade.usembassy.gov/consular/forms.html as a translation guide.

Applicants who do not have access to an internet computer or who are not computer literate may request another person to assist them in filling out the EVAF form.

EVAF has been designed to keep your application data safe and secure. Its security and privacy has been proven through millions of applications. The form also makes the NIV application process more efficient. It saves data entry time, reduces data entry errors, and will enable the U.S. Embassy to provide better service to visa applicants in Serbia.

All other supplemental forms required for certain applicants, such as the DS-157 and DS-158, are also available on http://belgrade.usembassy.gov/consular/forms.html. They also can be picked up in person at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade. Answers on the supplemental forms DS-157 and DS-158 may be typed on a typewriter or clearly handwritten.

The EVAF can be found at http://evisaforms.state.gov/.
