Business Visas

Persons traveling to the United States for business purposes such as a business meeting, conference, symposium, or training course, must make an appointment for an interview.

In support of their application, apart from the documents described in "Basic documents and photographs" travelers on business should present the following:

• a letter of invitation from an American company or school listing the name of the person being invited, the purpose of the trip and the dates of the visit;
• a statement from the sponsoring Serbian or Montenegrin institution/company, on official letterhead, which lists the employee's position, income, length of service, reason for travel and provides evidence that the sponsoring institution will cover all appropriate travel expenses;
• an original of the applicants work book;

Applicants traveling to the U.S. for a scientific conference or symposium or to visit an American university or a scientific organization should present the documents described in "Basic documents and photographs" and the following:

- an invitation on the letterhead of the inviting American institution or a written confirmation of participation in a conference;

- a reference letter from the sponsoring Serbian or Montenegrin scientific institution (e.g., university, research institute) listing the applicant's position, length of service, salary and the purpose of his/her travel to the U.S. as well as evidence that the sponsoring institution will cover all appropriate travel expenses.

- Information about previous publications and research projects

Please bring your expired passports for review.

Participants in sporting events, apart from the documents described in "Basic documents and photographs", must also present the following:

• Letter of invitation from the event organizers that lists the names of all those traveling
• Letter from the relevant Serbia or in Montenegrin sports association that lists the names of all travelers and their role in the event
• Documentation showing individual and/or group participation in similar events in Serbia or in Montenegro and abroad, for example press clips, awards and old passports with visas
  

Approved visas require one day for processing. Visa recipients can pick up their passport with visa at 16:00 the next business day after the day of their interview, unless otherwise notified.
