The United States Congratulates Boris Tadic on His Re-Election as President of Serbia

The United States congratulates Boris Tadic on his re-election as President of Serbia and commends the Serbian people for their strong participation in free, fair and democratic presidential elections.

The Serbian people have clearly chosen the path that will lead Serbia toward integration into the institutions of the west where it belongs. President Tadic promised voters a European future for Serbia. The United States will work with President Tadic and the Serbian people to see Serbia firmly set on the path to prosperity, enjoying a market-oriented economy, and guided by the rule of law.

We are confident that the democratic spirit awakened on October 5, 2000 and reinvigorated on February 3, 2008 is alive in Serbia today, and we are determined to remain engaged with reformers to help realize this vision. We look forward to continuing our efforts to build a productive relationship with Serbia.

Sjedinjene Države čestitaju Borisu Tadiću na reizboru za Predsednika Republike Srbije

Sjedinjene Države čestitaju Borisu Tadiću na ponovnom izboru za Predsednika Srbije i upućuju pohvale građanima Srbije na masovnom učešću u slobodnim, poštenim i demokratskim predsedničkim izborima.

Srpski narod je jasno izabrao put koji Srbiju vodi u zapadne integracije, gde i pripada. Predsednik Tadić obećao je biračima evropsku budućnost Srbije. Sjedinjene Države odlučne su da rade zajedno sa predsednikom Tadićem i građanima na preobražaju Srbije u zemlju koja je čvrsto opredeljena za dalji prosperitet, koja razvija tržišno orjentisanu ekonomiju, i koja je vođena vladavinom prava.

Ubeđeni smo da je isti onaj demokratski duh, koji je probuđen 5. oktobra 2000. godine i koji je ponovo osnažen 3. februara 2008. godine, i danas prisutan u Srbiji i odlučni smo da nastavimo da sarađujemo sa reformskim snagama u cilju ispunjenja ove vizije. Opredeljeni smo da nastavimo izgradnju produktivnih odnosa sa Srbijom.
