Ambassador Munter Reaches Out in Show of Support for U.S. Companies in Serbia

As U.S. commercial interests continue to grow in Serbia, Ambassador Munter is intent to work with groups such as the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), the Serbian government, and individual companies to help improve the business climate in Serbia and make Serbia a more attractive destination for foreign investment. As a result, Ambassador Munter has modified cooperation with AmCham to create the Ambassador - AmCham Board of Governor's Quarterly Advisory Meeting, designed to discuss targeted issues of interest to ensure cooperation and action on mutually beneficial topics. The meeting took place on January 17. The new format created allowed for enhanced discussion on specific actionable items of interest to AmCham as well as sharing of information on the overall business climate in Serbia.

In addition, Ambassador Munter, with the coordination from the Embassy's Commercial Service office, embarked on the first of a series of U.S. company tours around Belgrade. The intent is to visit operations of U.S. companies to not only see their facilities, but to talk with their management to get a better understanding of the issues facing U.S. business interests in Serbia.
