U.S. Gospel Ensemble "Overjoyed" Performs in Belgrade

On March 20, the U.S. gospel ensemble "Overjoyed" performed at the Sava Center in Belgrade on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the Radio Television Serbia Big Band with the support of the U.S. Embassy. The concert was organized by the Music Production of the Radio Television Serbia in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Big Band and to promote gospel music, which is rarely heard in Serbia. Prior to the concert, the nine-member ensemble also gave a master class to students of the music school "Stankovic," the only music school in Serbia hosting a Jazz Department. The following day, "Overjoyed" visited the International School of Belgrade where they sang some of their songs and had informal conversations with students.

AMERIČKI GOSPEL ANSAMBL "OVERJOYED" U BEOGRADU

Ambasada Sjedinjenih Država pomogla je nastup američkog gospel ansambla "Overjoyed" 20. marta u Sava centru povodom šezdesetogodišnjice Big Band-a Radio televizije Srbije. Koncert je organizovala Muzička produkcija Radio televizije Srbije u čast šezdesetog rođendana Big Band-a i kako bi promovisala gospel, vrstu muzike koja se retko čuje u Srbiji. Pre koncerta devetočlani ansambl je održao majstorsku radionicu đacima muzičke škole "Stanković", jedine muzičke škole u Srbiji koja ima odsek za džez. Narednog dana ansambl "Overjoyed" posetio je Međunarodnu školu u Beogradu gde su otpevali nekoliko pesama i neformalno razgovarali sa đacima.
