U.S. Architect Thomas Mayne Joins Belgrade International Architecture Week (BINA)

Thomas Mayne, a widely recognized Los Angeles based architect and founder of renowned architectural office Morphosis, will visit Serbia July 1-4, 2009 to join Belgrade International Architecture Week (BINA). Mr. Mayne will give a keynote address at the BINA conference and a lecture at the Faculty of Architecture. He will also meet with city planners at the Urban Planning Institute.

Mr. Mayne’s visit reinforces Serbia’s growing prestige in the fields of modern design, urban renovation, and architecture. His visit to Belgrade is sponsored through the U.S. Embassy’s Speaker’s Program in collaboration with BINA and the Belgrade Cultural Center.

Journalists interested in covering Mr. Mayne’s keynote address “Morphosis philosophy” should be at opštine Stari Grad, Svečana sala, address Makedonska 42, no later than 19:50 on Thursday, July 2nd 2009.

Američki arhitekta Tomas Mejn na Beogradskoj nedelji arhitekture (BINA)

Tomas Mejn, ugledni i priznati arhitekta iz Los Anđelesa i osnivač poznate arhitektonske firme Morfoza, posetiće Srbiju u periodu od 1. do 4. jula 2009, kao gost na Beogradskoj nedelji arhitekture. Gospodin Mejn će održati govor na BINA koferenciji, kao i predavanje na Arhitektonskom fakultetu. Tokom boravka u Beogradu, sastaće se i sa gradskim urbanistima i posetiti Urbanistički zavod Beograda.

Poseta gospodina Mejn je odraz rastućeg prestiža Srbije na planu modernog dizajna, urbanističkih renoviranja i arhitekture. Njegova poseta Beogradu je podržana kroz “Program gostujućih predavača“ američke ambasade u saradnji sa BINA i Kulturnim centrom Beograda.

Novinari zainteresovani da medijski proprate prezentaciju gospodina Mejna na temu “Filosofija Morfoze” treba da dođu u Svečanu salu Opštine Stari Grad, Makedonska 42, u 19:50 časova u utorak 2. jula 2009. godine.
