Warden Message – 2009-H1N1 Influenza A – Serbia

This Warden Message alerts U.S. citizens to the latest information regarding human cases of 2009-H1N1 Influenza, sometimes referred to as swine flu or novel H1N1.
The Government of Serbia's Ministry of Health, reports multiple confirmed cases of 2009-H1N1 Influenza A in Serbia. Cases of this flu have also been confirmed in other countries in South Central Europe (including Montenegro, Slovenia, Romania, and Greece).
Serbian authorities have instituted health screening of air passengers coming from select areas, including North America. The Serbian Ministry of Health has stated that travelers of concern, identified by the screening process, may be referred for further examination to the Institute for Infectious and Tropical Diseases, Belgrade; Clinic for Infectious Diseases, Novi Sad; Clinic for Infectious Diseases, Niš; and Clinic for Infectious Diseases, Kragujevac.
Any questions or concerns about influenza or other illnesses should be directed to a medical professional. Americans without Internet access may register directly with the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade. By registering, American citizens make it easier for the Embassy or Consulate to contact them in case of emergency.
